Christopher Nissen

Christopher Nissen is an NYC-based photographer. A native New Yorker and a lifelong lover of comics, anime, and video games, Christopher started the NYC Toy Life project in 2017 to celebrate the relationship between pop culture and the city he calls home. His work takes action figures and turns them into larger-than-life figures, using the rich and diverse world of New York City as a backdrop. Christopher is passionate about finding and featuring the places that make New York unique, ranging from recognizable locations like the Empire State Building and the High Line to side streets in Washington Heights and hidden corners of Central Park.

Christopher was the recipient of the Gallery Award and the Armstrong and Dorothy Lim Award at Kingsborough Community College in 2019.
